Speaker Bio: Gabor George Burt is an internationally recognized expert on innovation, creativity and strategy development. Gabor’s book Slingshot explores the connection between systematic creativity and smart strategy. Gabor George Burt was born in Budapest, Hungary. He holds a BA in psychology from Amherst College as well as an MBA from INSEAD, France.
Over the past decade Gabor has gained international recognition in the management world as a pioneer in the strategic perspective of Defying Conventional Wisdom, as well as a leading expert on Blue Ocean Strategy, the influential framework that transforms unconventional ideas into successful strategies. He is actively involved in shaping strategy for a diverse group of international clients from Fortune 500 firms to successful start-ups and leading by example through his own initiatives.
Gabor writes articles for leading business publications and co-hosts a nationally broadcast radio show. His blog has been selected as one of the top online resources on innovation. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxGrandRapids, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxGrandRapids event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
