SALAH BOUKADOUM
The Good Returns model shows how one small twist can turn capitalism into a force for solving global problems.
Speaker Bio: Salah Boukadoum, 43, teaches business leaders how to structure their organizations to increase positive impact in our world. Originally an internationally touring concert pianist, Salah is a lifelong entrepreneur who has been building and selling businesses since age 27. His most recent Dallas-based venture, Soap Hope, is a for-profit company that invests every dollar of profit into organizations that lift women from poverty. Salah is the inventor of the Good Returns model, in which a business dedicates all dividends to a year of service to society before they can be payed to shareholders. Salah has a vision and plan to teach 1,000 businesses to implement Good Returns and thereby create one billion dollars for social good.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxGrandRapids, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxGrandRapids event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
