Gurjit Singh Lalli was born in England to Indian parents, raised in Scotland, and educated in Sweden, earning a Masters in Business Administration and in European Law from Lund University. Fluent in Spanish, English, and Punjabi, he founded several for-impact businesses in Latin America and currently lives in Glasgow, Scotland, where he is the founder of TEDxGlasgow and is involved in multiple entrepreneurial impact ventures.
In 2011, Gurjit co-founded The Power of Youth, an organization that harnesses the global energy and capital of successful young entrepreneurs to inspire and finance socially responsible development and collaboration. All of Gurjit’s work is based upon the belief that businesses should be at the heart of building a better, more just and sustainable world.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
